Perhaps one of the most outstanding aspects about Roger Cheeks is the statement of his heart, “God has made us in his image so now is the time to reveal your purpose, achieve your destiny and live in dominion authority.”
His message crosses racial, gender, socio-economic and denominational lines and is intended to reach people where they live. He has encouraged many people across the globe from different faith traditions such as the; Catholic Church, Church of God in Christ, United Methodist Church, Missionary Baptist, Apostolic, Freewill Baptist, Assembly of God, Church of the Nazarene and many nondenominational churches, as well as in India, Africa, Jamaica and the United Kingdom. He has also spoken to hundreds of students as a special speaker in high schools, and colleges’ and universities’ such as; Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman, Indiana Wesleyan University, Southern University, Fisk University, Savannah State, Vincennes University, Norfolk State University, Southeastern Louisiana University and Regent University.
As an educator, community and ministry leader, Roger uses his leadership skills to influence and motivate people to achieve their dreams, especially for those who are broken, rejected, and wounded by life’s circumstances. As such Roger has served as the Assistant Director of the African American Cultural Center and Assistant Dean in Student Life at Indiana State University. He is also a recording artist with Tate Music Group. His music encompasses the soulfulness of Gospel along with the essence and the purity of Christian music with a pure vocal sound. He has been a host of Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Praise the Lord program in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has appeared on TBN’s nationally televised broadcast as well. He has been a special guest for the Buffalo Bills, the National Evangelical Association’s and for the Hampton Roads YMCA Annual Prayer Breakfast (with the late great football legend Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers).
